Mississauga (January 2005)
In fact, the best and only thinkamagig I got was a Nokia 6600 for my birthday, which I took a whirl on several times to do some phonecam snapshots.
And that’s it. I still have my trusty Canon Powershot A20, Lomo LCA, and my dying laptop.
Since migrating, I have this plan to target something by milestones. My first paycheck went to a new 27” TV and DVD player for those cold winter nights. I surmise that doing that I'd value every cent and space my purchases.
This gadget-lust has even invaded my sleep. 24 hours ago, I dreamt that I got the following 2005 gadgets from the mail:
A voice-over-IP connection to have lower mobile phone charges.
Then an Apple 12-inch Powerbook which I plan to place inside this for safety reasons. (Just kidding. Not on the Apple crossing-over, but on the pizzabox). In the dream, I told myself, "Now that I’m using a Mac, I won’t even need Microsoft’s latest spyware to be launched on Jan 6." Beta snapshot here.
To go with it was a spanking new Apple Ipod’s 20GB with the new click wheel. I looked at my music library on my laptop and it is eating 4 GB, plus 4 GB in my lacie external drive. So a 20 GB will be underutilized. I guess.
The last box came. In it was a Nokia 7710. (no, not a 7110, I had that 5 years ago).
While I tinkered with it, re-placed my sim card, and turned it on, this great all-in-one gadget rang.
The ring was so familiar. It was like my old phone. But that should'nt happen I reckoned. I thought I stopped the ringing by turning it off, but it didnt.
My alarm clock kept on ringing.
It was 6:45 in the morning.
Time to go to work.
Pinoy bloggers met and enjoyed, and ate, and enjoyed, took pictures, and enjoyed, told stories and enjoyed, while I sit here gnashing my teeth wanting to join the fray. You are the People of the Year! Take a bow.
BTW, last year more readers were reading blogs. That's why my numbers doubled and my friends reached a million.
