This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.-Vincent
I saw your 55 million dollar worth Irises at the Getty in LA. Stayed in Orsay for a good 2 hours to be in the company of your many magnus opus. Visited your room in Arles, touched the walls, witnesses to your loneliness; peered through the window, your connection to the world; walked in your last sanctuary in St Paul at St. Remy. I chased you Vincent. It was a great chase.
Happy Birthday to you.

One anecdote I had about Van Gogh was that it was a painting of his (Dr. Gauchet) that I reproduced and submitted for one of our plates in Art during Grade 5. I probably copied it so well it was kept by my Art teacher for her personal files. In return I got an "O" (Outstanding) grade for the rest of the 3 Quarters in 5th Grade Art.
