 Hi Tito...hi nephew and niece  Future Blogger Junkie  Baby Faces  Talking to Tita in Canada Kids Are Us (Home, July 2005) It was all worth it! Just to hold their tiny hands, smell their fresh breath, and gaze into their innocent eyes - precious are the moments spent with kids. More so if the kids are your youngest nephew and niece whose face time with you is like 2x in 16 months for my elder sister's Jake and for Zia - the first time in her 10 months. Here's an open letter to them: Dear Jake, You're a dynamo and that is an understatement. Your fast paced attitude toward life, longing not for kid toys but for Powerbooks, or Cell Phones to Digital Cameras and remote controls, is your way of saying that you belong to this world of gadgetry. You yourself was born strapped for some few days to a gadget as you were born slightly over 2 pounds, miraculously surviving a world that you called your own, dry and sapped nary the motherly liquid needed for you to last a another day more. (well, who cares if we could've have shared birthdays, I only care that you were safe and you survived!) Now you're so much full of life! You are life itself, a testament that miracles do happen everyday! Dear Zia, I couldn't help but smile the first time you gazed into my eyes as you followed me whereever I went around the room. I know, I am guilty Zia for a lot of things that I'd like to say sorry for - and not being there on your birthdate was just one of them. You're such a beautiful girl, placid, peaceful and so lady-like. You are who you are, so much different from your mom, my little big sister :) Zia, you are God's gift to your parents as you are a gift to my own. Now your lolo and lola have a walking, talking doll who allows them to be young at heart too - at the same time away from other gimmicks to just spend time with you! One request, don't stare at me the next time we meet. One more minute of your stare, I'd have to put you into my bag and bring you home to Toronto, and I'm not kidding.
