I'm very good with numbers. I remember phone numbers, all my savings account numbers, credit card numbers, all 2 of them like I was an elephant. Ok, make that a sea lion.
So if you have Alphanumeric things for me to memorize, my efficiency is cut into half.
So I go down back with numbers. 312 is my birthday, 506 and 1030 are my sisters' and 723, 1011, 311 and 930 are my nephews' and nieces' on my side.
So I have a friend since Grade 6, who is celebrating this 814 and I haven't forgotten to greet her every year - maybe for what? 20 years now? So, to Vangie, who has never forgotten my birthday too, and whom I promise a visit (for the longest time) and break the 10 years spell of not seeing each other.
(that's Happy Birthday using your Text messaging skills...)
Thank God I wasn't travelling yesterday.
Knowing that I always bring with me, a toothpaste (I brush my teeth during the flight), a gel cream (to keep my hair from standing after dozing off), 2 bottles of water (1 for the flight, and 1 when I get to my destination), a deodorant roll-on (to make sure I'm not the one they're talking about), and a small bottle of baby oil; I could've said goodbye to them yesterday.
All of these, plus sports drinks, shampoos, perfumes, suntan lotions, cosmetics and infant's milk (if baby is not present) are not anymore allowed on board :(
Passersby and maybe the airport maintenance crew probably had a hey day with all the branded perfumes they could get from the trashbins. :)
This is a video of the scene yesterday.
I'd rather they ban the liquids than they ban laptops, MP3 players or cellphones (who experts think were to be used as detonators).
What's next, we can't wear jeans on board since the material is flammable and can cause fire?
Life indeed is both a tragedy and a comedy!
