Out in Ontario Stratford and St. Jacobs, Ontario There are just 52 of them in a year. In fact on my end, with the current trips to the Philippines, it's been down to 20 in the first half of the year. Hopefully will be more than 40 before the year ends. I'm talking about (abut if you're Canadian) - weekends with my wife. This is the reason why we take time to spend it well and to schedule what we need to do over the span of Friday night to Sunday night. And sometimes we don't. This past weekend was a cross between the two. We went downtown last Friday, spent the morning of Saturday doing a garage sale and Saturday afternoon in Stratford, and Saturday night in a halo halo party. Sunday morning was spent at home trying to organize our painting project, and packing for an overnight stay in St Jacobs, Ontario. So now, am here with a fast internet access, feeling like Scarlet Johansson in "Lost in Translation". :) ********** How many shirts can you fit in one bag? Mitzi tried the challenge in a Stratford store whose lease was up and was about to close at the end of the month. So what they did was to move their inventory by asking people to stuff a bag with everything from the store in a letterhead size plastic bag - all for $ 40. My wife was able to stuff it with 13 tees, 1 hoodie and get this, a pair of wedges :) hahahah. Probably a record for the store. I would've done it by stuffing the cash register inside the bag! :P ********* Top 5 Most Popular Packing Tips - works both for Balikbayan Bags and for Vacation Packing 1. Make a List 2. Baggies/ Zip Locks for liquids, and those that may scratch (shades, cameras, cellphones) 3. Taping toiletries' lids shut 4. Tags inside the bags - not just outside the bag - complete the address and phone num 5. Did you know that it costs from $ 70 to $ 85 to send a Balikbayan Box to the Philippines - with unlimited cargo weight? Target arrival time is 3-5 weeks. So if you plan well, you can choose to send a care box with the packing tips mentioned than bring it yourself and paying $ 25. Makes sense right? ********** Uh-oh. I haven't packed my bags for my trip back to the Philippines this Friday :) ********** An adult and matured way of looking at the best packing tips.
