How we enjoyed the water making waterguns with our palms, endless floating on both sides like pancakes being turned upside down, or yes trying the games the kids play - skimboarding! Skimboarding or to the local kids - "balansbord", was yes, a game where you throw a half-sized surfboard made up of marine plywood to the edge of where the last stretch of water and the sand touch. As soon as the water smoothens the sand, the timing must be impeccable for one to slide the skimboard, let it skim for a split second, catch it on its best flow and then jump on it and maintain balance. Of course, the kids would last from 3-5 good seconds, while this trying hard mid thirties guy could only afford to be on the board for 0.3 milliseconds. Talk about enjoying. I enjoyed falling down and catching the soft polvoron-colored sands...much more than the balancing. Click Pic to Continue Day 1 |
