Men see shopping as a destination, while women see it as a journey. Very true? Why? After 30 minutes of moving from store to store at the famed Boracay Talipapa at Station 3, and having a forgettable lunch at Honeybee's Restaurant, my wife still needed to spend the rest of the afternoon scouring the talipapa for more bargains. After 3 hours, they practically walked and finished the whole kilometer stretch of stalls and after that walked some more from Station 3 to Station 1, a good 3 kilometers. It may have been a sweet walk with the loot that they got from their shopping but rather painful to the wallets (and maybe to their feet too). Trust them women to enjoy doing it. My prayers were for dinner to be rescued by a solicitous friend, or the resto accepts credit cards. ATMs would have been a great idea, if only they were reliable and open.
