Mary's Rock Click anywhere on the Pic to view more Boracay Island pics Even Holy People Take A Break Boracay Island, Philippines, June 2004 It is heartwarming to note that the most picturesque rock along the Long Beach has the statue of Mama Mary. That Saturday morning, I was able to catch a nun praying in front of the rock, dipping her feet on the shallow waters of Boracay, resting her eyes in deep communion with nature and her creator. One good thing about this island is that almost everyone are good natured, ready to help and chat with you with a ready smile and apparent attentiveness to what you want to tell them. Even with the commercialization of the island, the people were able to maintain their faith, their progressive behaviour of helping each other and the fact that crime has not increased through the years. One would notice the church having its regular devotees coming in and out at end of day, probably thanking the Lord for their daily blessings. These plus some are good indicators that life in an island is a good balance of work and a not-so-rushed life. A life I might consider in the future. We spent Saturday morning lazing around preparing for a sumptuous lunch at McSandro's at the center of D'Mall at Station 2. Rave reviews have encouraged us to partake of Filipino food today to coincidentally mark Philippines' Independence. ******* A Church is found at the plaza at the back of True Home Sunday Mass Schedules are at : 8 am and 4 pm That Sunday a 4 PM wedding was set in the church (instead of the beach front) Click Pic to Continue Day 3 |
