 Sunny Smiles, Despite the Rains  At Ground Zero, Reading the 9/11 Timeline  Setting Our Eyes for an IPO at NYSE?  Statue of Liberty at the background and Play with lights in the foreground  Resting near the Brooklyn Bridge  No Time Better to Be in Times Square But When the Bright Lights of the Big City are Turned On Captured Moments in the US of A - Part 2 (May 20-25, 2006) So we only have 1 complete day in New York City. Armed with a laundry list of places to go to, all we needed to accomplish this daunting task were a sturdy pair of shoes, a Metro Card and a couple who were born to enjoy a place on a shoestring budget. So here goes : Taking Manhattan in 1 day: (Afternoon Schedule) 130 pm : Buy Gray's Papaya frankfurters for Lunch 200 pm : Lunch ala "Fools Rush In" at Central Park 300 pm : Subway train to Ground Zero 330 pm : The Rains were perfect reason to go shopping at Century 21 345 pm : Rain stops, and I was the only one with a shopping bag 350 pm : Short Walk to Wall Street, ducking under any roof we can see as the rains played hide and seek with us 400 pm : Arrive at NYSE and do a Little Red Riding Hood pic or a George Washington pose 410 pm : Rain starts again 420 pm : Walk past the bull and go behind it 430 pm : Blame it on the Rains, No more ferries to Liberty Island; 435 pm : take Free Ferry instead to Staten Island 500 pm : Arrive at Staten Island, View Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty from this great vantage point 501 pm : Back to Manhattan 530 pm : Arrive at Manhattan Island again 545 pm : Walk to South Street Seaport 550 pm : Brooklyn Bridge 600 pm : Taxi to 34th Street 615 pm : Arrive at Empire State 630 pm : Decide not to go up 730 pm : Souvenir shopping 800 pm : Light Dinner at nearby diner 830 pm : Walk to 42nd street 845 pm : Arrive at Times Square 900 pm : Meet relatives 945 pm : Back at New Jersey 1000pm : Late Dinner but very happy There you go - New York in One Day See our morning schedule here.
