Red and White on Blue Rosehill St. Toronto, Canada(September 2004) dreams stay with you Like a lover's voice far as the mountainside Stay alive." - In A Big Country Probably the longest day in our lives. Literally and figuratively. A conscious effort to skip sleep made me a little woozy by 6 am. While an early check-in with parents from both sides present - made me quite sentimental. That was how we started our day. We were checked-in 2 hours early. There were no problems with the 4 baggages since we weighed them to the last gram a week earlier. We tried to enjoy frequent flyer benefits but the food was not inviting enough. The flight at 12 noon was on time with a pair of Business class seats waiting (paid for by an Economy class fare), reminiscent of our honeymoon flight 8 years ago. This time, this is a life-long honeymoon not in a small high-tech Asian island but in a big country. Our dreams are as big as this island. Our anxious hands are as cold but our hearts are warm with all the well-wishes and the prayers of everyone we left behind. We are ready for this adventure, in a big country, dreams stay with us, like a lover's voice far as the mountainside, as the 80s song goes. Share with us in this ride, the ride of our lives. << |
