Kris and Tell Look What Being Sick on a Sunday Did To Me Screen Grab from ABS-CBN I was never a Kris Aquino fan. Denial. Although, I remember having a crush on her in 1983, shortly after coming back from Boston to attend the wake of her hero dad. Starting to remember. The closest I got near her was late 2002, in Page One in Powerplant when she grabbed the magazine I was about to reach out (it was an Esquire). I also remember reading stories from her column (now defunct, entitled "Kris and Tell") in Inquirer which were a source of quotables and of great recommendations for restos to try, books to read and what-have-yous. More often, it showed her materialistic side. She was loud, candid, sometimes to the point of being tactless. The last one is the deal breaker. Covering Up. After all the replays last Thursday, (and more on Friday and also on Saturday), her image has been used to depict this strong front, mistaken as the "real" Kris. She is not strong. She is just honest, too honest. Honest to make a mistake, maybe, one after another. This recent one is just one of them, not her biggest, yet. That night in Powerplant, she let go off the Esquire and she smiled back, probably saying "never mind", and grabbed another copy for herself. She knew then, just like right now, the right time to let go. Ok, ok, |
