26 Things : Oversized Photo Friday : Childhood We see ourselves in the kids around us. Kyle, is my precocious 7-year old nephew who shares the same birthdate, October 11, 1996, with another nephew on my wife's side, Rappy. The similarity doesn't end there. Their untiring ability to jump from one activity to another, their fondness for practical jokes and for funny camera poses are stark indications of their playful attitude. Despite their fathers being on the serious side, their common uncle, me, is not your garden variety uncle. (well probably the same as most uncles - loose, lax and forgiving). I am the uncle who pampers them with small gifts left and right, allows them to be curious with electrical sockets and pointing toy guns at people, the one who permits them to run no end, play til you drop, in short to be who they want to be, to do what they want to do. But as my mom says, "wait til you have a small boy of your own, let's see you discipline them." I guess mothers know best. |
