Sports La'ang Di Lang Pampamilya, Pang Sports Pa Various 2003 Sports Images, Philippines Ok. I never made it to any national sports team, nor even our school "sipa" team, but I've loved sports all my life. It's the first newspaper section I read in the morning, its the last show I watch at night, sometimes, in between I dream I'm racing down Melbourne and beating the shit out of my idol Schumi and the rest of the also-rans. 2003 was not a sporting year for me. I was one of those millions of Filipinos who learned how to play badminton. ow-kay. I still do play every Thursdays. I learned how to ski, and fall, a thousand times. I played bowling sparingly, and made 7 strikes en route to a career high, 175. I climbed a mountain, swam a sea (3 seas, the South China, the Med and the Atlantic), but never was it like during my younger years. I admit I've lost a step or two (I used to have a mean 3-point shot in basketball) but definitely, at my age, its better to take care of my knees and my elbows for future use than to ham it up with the younger ones. Now am turning 35, and they say that life is not going to be the same. Sinong tinakot nila. Idol ko talaga si Jawo, when at 52 he was still playing in the PBA! |
