Papa The Other Guy in the Family Las Pinas, Philippines, 1980 - Chales Kelland Apart from biology, there are a lot of things in common that I can be proud of of papa. Some of them I thought I never realized I would be doing, like taking photography (although my work hasn't been published like his), a passion with reading and writing (but he has the better ability to do it with so much gusto, you can feel it from his works), and to be a good provider to the family. We are both left handed. We share the same name, except for one letter. We both snore, have an abnormal-sized pouch, a problem with credit cards, a funny gait, a great sense of timing to crack a joke in a tense situation. We both love life. 2 years ago today, this week, he would have lost that love for life. But he held on and passed his quadruple bypass knowing that there are a lot of things in life he still wants to accomplish. He still had to see Europe with mama, to see Jake, the fast growing apo, the 2 Gold medals every year from Matthew and Kyle, walking down the aisle with my younger sister and seeing us off to another life in Canada. More years to you Pa. Thank you for being the silent strength in the family. We know that in your silence, you are already thinking of the next joke to crack us up! Happy Fathers' Day! |
