Toronto (September 2004)

"Tuesday's child is full of grace"

We paid a visit to the seat of the city mayor, who might be out riding the subway as he loves to take these days, tried lunching the way most Toronto newbies would do - with a view of the CN Tower, and tried to be at pace with how most Toronto office workers walk - that is, to do it slowly.

After the restful weekend when:

last Saturday:
o we visited the "it"* apartment - we're getting close to nesting in our own apartment
o we heard anticipated mass - to thank Him for the surge of blessings from the past week
o we had our first Canadian beer

then last Sunday:
o practiced driving, hopefully exams next week (my wife has an automatic G (Pro) license being a Swiss license-holder)
o visited a beautiful apartment on the eastmost side of Mississauga - too far really
o hosted dinner at familiar steakplace, Tony Roma's, where food was great, as we know it from Makati. We were glad we weren't disappointed.

Monday, was another restful day:
o received Visa Credit Card - either the boon or bane of anybody, but for us is a must to make a good credit history
o posted job resume at workopolis.com - viewed 7 times on its first day but no bite yet. Thus, it still needs some more improvements.

Thus on Tuesday, being both detailed-oriented, we decided to go downtown, simulate the bus ride, the subway ride, the waiting time to take if we choose the "it" apartment. Our assumption is that we work in downtown Toronto but be away from the bright lights of the big city.

The results : not bad. We are just 20 minutes from the nearest subway station to downtown and another 15 minutes from the center of the city of Mississauga.

The "it" apartment might be it. (we are hoping that after deliberating on our record, financial capability and maybe how good we both look, we get approved by the apartment managers).

Cross your fingers....nah, praying with us, is a lot better...
