Royal Ontario Museum (Free on Fridays), Toronto (December 2004) Today we met old friends from Manila. In one of the many conversations which lasted close to 12 hours, I was mentioned to be like Dr. Ross Geller, the character of David Schwimmer in that hit 10-year show, Friends. Ross being somewhat nerdy and yes, a lover of anything that is old. (Happy Belated Birthday, Pa!). Then in an instant, I realized that I can also be like Monica - detailed, organized and has obsessive-compulsive behaviour; or maybe like Phoebe, who loves to sing despite the lack of uhm, any talent; or maybe close to Chandler Bing. Chandler being a guy who loves numbers, sees everything with lightheartedness and jest; or Rachel, quirky but sexy, or Joey - a boy trapped in a man's body. We have everybody in "Friends" - the show, in all of us. Then I finally realized how I loved and missed the show... ...and my real friends as well (lurkers and commenters alike). ****** More pictures of Roaming the ROM here. << |
