Perfect (Eggs for a Perfect Leche Flan Recipe) Our Kitchen, Mississauga (December 2004) - Charles Dana More than 3 months.... much like eternity. That's the reason why we were gawking at the TV screen, trying to rekindle those catatonic Sunday afternoons, when life revolved around the TV, chismis, Boy and Kris. Yes, Kris and Boy joined our New Year's Eve celebration and we were mesmerized, entranced, or we just had too much fatty oil from our Pinoy food to not notice our "kajologan". In between the double dips of puto into the dinuguan, and big chunky bites of barbeque reminiscent of Aling Nene's, we learned that Osang and Lani are now grandmas and mag balaes at that. The kaldereta was tender and so was the news and the view of Aleck Bovick's chest. We only had to be somber and solemn when the footage of Da King rolled in. Well, half-amused, half-irritated that we thought hundreds of last minute respect-payers were seen on TV but in fact only 6 showbiz personalities whose footages were repeated a hundred times actually rushed in St Luke's as if they can make good with a last minute visit. The New Year's Eve party was so much fun. Drinks were flowing. The kuwento were never-ending as if we knew each other more than 5 hours. An all-pinoy gathering is made doubly enjoyable when someone brings a vhs-copy of a TFC feed of The Buzz, and the only one who can identify the stars and the background of every chismis - is you, rather, is me. ****** Happy Three Kings to everyone! << |
