Chinese Stores - the best source for Asian Ingredients - aka Milagrosa Rice from Thailand Melting Ice on a Supermarket Roof College Park Stores - Hopefully Furniture Prices for College Type Dorms Marketing In A Different Way Top and Middle Picture, Mississauga, Bottom Picture, Toronto Benjamin Franklin I've always loved marketing. From the time I paid for my tuition fees in high school by selling long playing records and mixed tapes (sorry but I was ahead of Napster and Kazaa in selling unlicensed music), and marketing the most profitable t-shirts in the university to making the record for the biggest outdoor concert in La Salle history, doubling the money for the investors, I knew I was set for greater heights in this field. For the last decade, I got paid for something I always loved doing - marketing the company's products to targeted customers and making both happy. Currently I've continued the passion albeit in a different way. The mix of the best prices, promotions and high value product available come into a play in uhm in various shapes and forms. These days, I do marketing from securing the lowest priced toilettries using coupons, newspaper cut outs and mail flyers, to canvassing far and wide, travelling from all corners of Toronto to know the best priced apartment furnishings to fit our tight budget. From dealing with the apartment supervisor explaining why its better that we have a new bathtub fixture instead of just doing stopgap repairs to talking out video store owners to forego late fees, using the snow storm as an excuse. Well, all of them can be considered part of marketing, just in a different way. This time, marketing to charm people to getting what you want. In fact that's how marketers are known, right? snake charmers, thick faced, glib tonqued, black hearted people out to get and squeeze the last coins out from its clients. Of course, with the new set up right now, I also do the marketing - the real one. Fridays, I go to the Asian store for Milagrosa rice, unfortunately not from the Philippines but from our IRRI students from Thailand. I also try to visit the Italian supermarket for fresh bread and condiments, all in preparation for that night's meal. Not just securing the best products but also becoming a master genius in adding prices in my head just to be within budget everytime, I've become the complete marketing guy one can hope for. :) << |
