Photo Friday : Perfection Clarens, Switzerland Hindsight, as they say, is always 20/20. But when we were living in the land of three C's (cheese, cows and chocolates) for close to 3 years, we already knew from day 1 that the place where we lived in was perfect. It was God-given. We proudly invited our parents and siblings to share with them the beauty of an apartment facing the French alps and Lake Geneva, a bus station 50 meters from the doorsteps, a park right across the station and the lake was like our family's daily afternoon movie show. This view stared at us everyday for 3 years. Perfection in its truest sense, can never be forgotten. To end this, I'll pay tribute to Henri Cartier-Bresson, the French master photographer, who died August 3. He once said, that "Memory is very important, the memory of each photo taken, flowing at the same speed as the event. During the work, you have to be sure that you haven't left any holes, that you've captured everything, because afterwards it will be too late." Just like my having this site to keep mementos of our lives. The picture above and the 700 others inside are testament to this. To Sir Henri, You are like your pictures, you can never be forgotten. Can you snap one of St. Peter opening the pearly gates? That would be one decisive moment to see for us here living. << |
