12:30 February 22 Painting Downtown Red 13 Mississauga, Ontario - Corinthians 13 Bakers dozen you say? It seemed like it was more than 50 years. Apparently with all the things that could happen in a lifetime for some, we were able to experience in 13. It was 2/22/92 when this reed-thin smaller-framed Citibank trainee proposed in the corporate apartment after a deadline beating shutterless night in the office. Instead of saying yes, you covered my face with a blanket which apparently may have missed the laundry for sometime. Despite that, I audibly heard you say yes. You said yes! She said yes! From then on, it was like a blur. Off we piggy backed and mooched with a Belgian friend and his girlfriend for a free day-trip to Puerto Azul. There we went through the symbolic walk along the rocks. With the path too narrow, we had to walk with just one of us ahead. Symbolic of our 13 years. The other one supporting, while the other, leading, but still holding each other's hand. When our bodies couldn't stand the rigors of treading the rocky narrow path, we stopped. We chose our sweet spot and took refuge in that big rock and the rays of the sun was like a spotlight from heaven, asking us to start our number. With our eyes closed, we said our thanksgiving prayer. We opened our eyes to the setting sun. The colors of the sky was a palette of hues that unmistakably will be the color of our relationship. It was heavenly and capped by two seagulls hovering around us for sometime and seemingly blessing us. Twas a storybook moment. 13 years ago. Today. ****** Here's a review of entries with our pictures on our 13th year. Click Here. << |
