 Travelling to Office  Monitor to my Left, Monitor to my Right, Work in front of me, and soft pillows at my back Home Alone Mississauga, Ontario - Macaulay Caulkin as Kevin in "Home Alone" You've got to be proud of me. I singlehandedly assembled this office desk, ergonomic chair and placed back all the wi-fi connections, including setting up 3 extension cords to just one socket - all in a day's work. Yes, Virginia, the home office has been set up. Whereas several days ago til Valentine's Day, I commuted to work for close to two hours, now I go to office in 2 steps. Neat huh? So what time do I get up to go to work? I wake up at 8am, which is 5 am in LA, 9 pm in Manila and both business partners are already pounding their keys, while I move the mouse to change the status of my Yahoo Messenger. Do you need to change into work clothes? Vangie asked me if I was in my jammies while at work. Nah, although I put on a pair of jogging pants. Of course, I dont want to soil my leather seats. How's my regular workday the past week? Wake up at 8am, breakfast at 9, Ellen at 10, Bath at 11, Lunch at 12, Clean the apartment at 1, read back issues of Esquire at 2, break at 3, timeout at 4 pm. In between those times, I work. Seriously I work til 1 am since its only 2pm in Manila and 10pm in LA. Both my partners are still pounding on their keys. Do I make money with the kind of work that I do? Let's just say that my 3 months paycheck from my old job, I'll probably earn in 1 month, or less. You do the math. Plus, I don't run after buses and overshoot my subway stops. What's bad about having a home office? Not having it. Ok, the temptation to wander around, to pop in a DVD, to raid the ref, to overclean the apartment, or maybe stare at the bed and say, "later...". What's my favorite time of the day? 7pm. When my wife gets home and says, "Honey, I'm home." Did I really build the home office furniture myself? I said assemble, not build. It was like Lego.
