Dying Young at Yonge January 3, 2006 Maybe I should write about this as it strikes a chord so strong that I can still feel its effects more than a week after it happened. It's not because of the place that we love to frequent that hits close to home. Nor the fact that we were just there a day before it happened. It's the fact that you don't feel safe anymore whereever you are. We hear about the lady who was just by their window but was hit by a bullet from an officer who wanted to celebrate his Christmas vacation from duty with a bang, nonchalantly pointing his gun to a direction he thought was safe, but apparently....wasn't. It's hard to start the year for Torontonians with this type of fear. People should go back to Yonge and Dundas. I did and I prayed for you, Janie. I took the above pics and this snapshot in memory of Jane Creba, as a reminder that beautiful things should happen to beautiful people in a beautiful place if only we give peace a shot. Let's stop gun violence. << |
