Subway Subjects Royal York Station (January 2005) For now, we are happy to put up a list of the, Top 5 Things We Bought That We Had to Carry in Public Transpo: 5. 4 pieces of pillows from downtown to the subway. Imagine a vision-impaired guy escorted by the wife around Toronto with giant immaculate-white pillows as extra padding against the cold. That was me. 4. 6 pieces of Bags from Ikea. One potential cabinet, as well as a dozen breakable plates and glasses, were balanced from an Ikea branch to the apartment. 3. 1 piece DVD player. By far the easiest to carry, but not during a snow storm and on Boxing Day. 2. 1 4ft x 6ft area rug from the Distillery District in Downtown Toronto to the apartment in Mississauga. Imagine a dark colored rug wrapped in black trash bags to protect it from soiling. T oaid you, just picture someone carrying a dead body from the train to subway to another train...and the endless stares and whispers from co-passengers. :) "dead man in the train, excuse me..." 1. and yesterday, 1 big box, of guess what, the biggest Vacuum Cleaner you could ever find. It said lightweight on the box, but when I was carrying it from the store to bus station, for several hundred meters, it seemed like a treasure chest heavy of gold stashed from Yamashita. ***** Ok, so its bad to take pictures in subway stations? (link from Photoblogs.org) If that's so, we'd be missing great images of one of my favorite Toronto Photoblogger, such as these: - King Subway Station, Toronto - Various Subway shots, Toronto subway - A Subway Portrait, Toronto - and of course, my own If you don't want the ban, you can sign here. As for me, that would be no problem. Our "playing house" won't end soon. I wouldn't have to take any more subway pics as long as I'm carrying another great big box from downtown to the apartment! << |
