Dear Mother Nature and Father Time Collingwood, Ontario, Canada Dear Mother Nature, I know we've not been very good to you lately, maybe for decades perhaps. Stop. We've closed one eye and haven't tried looking beyond how we're treating you with our garbage, recycling and continuous abuse of our natural resources. Stop. But I hope you wouldn't mind one plea. Stop. We Filipinos know it was hard lesson to learn. Stop. In case you didn't know, among the 1,800 that have not been saved lately, close to half of them are children, half of our future leaders who were in school studying hard, were at home helping their parents with their everyday chores and most of them were so hopeful to turn around that town, several of the last agricultural areas left in our country. My plea is simple. Stop. We're not yet over the last one, where 1,800 are still missing and probably dead. Stop. Here comes another one. Please. Stop. Stop. *********** I once loved the telegram. My acceptance to university was sent via a telegram. My job application results were awaited via telegram. We used it to send electronic email or its equivalent on a per letter basis.. Maybe some of the readers weren't familiar with it, but before there were Skype, Google Chat and Text Messaging, there was the telegram. Now, it's now gone. For good. Stop. *********** Speaking of Google Chat - the initial week has shortened the distance between blogger friends and I, who now not only blog to communicate, or email and wait for a reply but chat via gmail. Tonigrrl was first. AnP was next. Batjay was most recent - until I saw his status change to "nagj*j*k*l"...hahahah. I didn't want to disturb him after that. I just stopped. :) << |
