Memento From the Month of May Created with fd's Flickr Toys Memories are mighty short. That's why some of us rely on address books, PDAs, secretaries and strings around our fingers. I don't need them when it comes to names, numbers, dates and events. I border between a whiz kid when it comes to memory work, but give me directions and a map and I'm close to dyslexic. I remember that I couldn't even in the pain of death know which side of Landmark was Paseo de Roxas and where it was going to Greenbelt. That's tough for me. I had to memorize that the Men's Socks were near Paseo and the music bar was near Greenbelt. That was good until the Landmark management decided to move around the whole first floor sections. Drats! ****** My lack of direction was tested just two weeks ago. It happened in what could be the last place to miss a direction - the notorious New Jersey Turnpike (NJTP). Yes, where exits are almost 10 miles apart and missing one would mean getting in a town before you can make a u-turn. Unlike Toronto freeway exits, just get on the ramp and cross the other side and you're back to where you want to be. My cousin, Reno and I, both direction-challenged, probably worse on my end, started from Newark and almost ended in Philadephia. We missed one signboard and we entered a darkhole. When we were out of it, a total of 2 hours were spent and we were still 6 exits away. It was either 2 exits and be home or 6 exits to go back. I decided to go home. When I was young, whenever I get lost, I just go back to the car and wait for my mama and papa. Cut the losses. After an hour, Mitzi and Linnor comes rolling in. The whole time, they were shopping and enjoying their time at Jackson Premium Outlets. Oh yeah, that's the best way to lose your way, at the same time, lose your pay! :) ********* Remember the Memry game by Pimpampum? (try it again...) They now have the Phrasr. Type a phrase and outcomes an image. Try "Cute Your name" << |
