Composite Images of : Chatham Lighthouse, Edgartown Lighthouse (Martha's Vineyard), Nauset Light, and Racepoint Lighthouse Loooong Weekend : Conclusion - Things to See in Cape Cod Toronto to Cape Cod I never realized it, but its been 10 entries already since I started recalling the ala "Thelma and Louise" drive we made to Massachusetts, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, Provincetown and in and around Cape Cod. I haven't done something for any place in a long time, except for our Greek Islands (7 entries) sortie and the Holy Week we spent in Andalucia (10 entries). Escape to the Cape might even last for another 4 to 5 more entries :). I hope you're enjoying the "trip" with us. ******** There's this growing fanbase of collectors for anything that is related to Lighthouses. Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees the North to avoid a collision. Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision. Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course. Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course. Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, I SAY AGAIN, THAT'S ONE FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER-MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP. Canadians: This is a lighthouse, over... ******* As I'm writing this entry, I can see a lighthouse a few hundred meters from where I am. I haven't been close to it. But this is how it looks like.. Beautiful, noh? Just proves that we neglect things around us that other people fascinate about. This is related in some way to what according to the Bible says, that "No prophet is accepted in his own hometown". I know of some people who never went up the Twin Towers in NYC, and suddenly realized what they missed. ******* I'm going to the lighthouse later. << |
