Leonora Teresa, Bang Bang Jeans, Combat, Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman and Bosom Buddies!,Choco Vim, Barbecue Curls, Prawn Curls and Krispies, Spin-A-Win, American Top 40, and Makati Northmall, Jingle Magazines, Wakasan komics, Atari, 8-track cassettes and 45 rpm vinyl records, the big old heavy 1 peso coin, the blue 2 peso bill, there were no 1,000 or 500 pero bills before, the square 1 centavo coin, and Apolinario Mabini and Andres Bonifacio had their own paper bills, what about the days when there used to be more v6 & v8 60's & 70's muscle-cars on the road (in this country), alfred hitchcock presents, saturday night fever, home-baked donuts by your grandma, when binary language was the "in" thing to study, those punched program cards to feed the computer to do a certain task, snakes and ladders (the ACTUAL folding board game... with matching cube-die), water guns that looked like batman and superman bent over & you load up water into their butts, those pens with the ball bearing in 1 the end which you rub on plastic for it to heat up enough to burn someone with, those sugar sweet gummy yummy orange candies you buy from "takatak" vendors on the way to school, hanging out at "libingan ng mga bayani" in fort bonifacio just for the hell of it, when a baguio trip took 3 hrs, when a full tank of gas cost Php260.00, when license plates had only 5 alphanumeric characters, when a FULLY-PLASTERED gimik night in tia maria for 4 to 5 people only cost less than Php400.00 (food included), when sperry top-sider boat shoes were really really hot, when high school students used brief cases while grade schoolers used metal lunch boxes, when classrooms weren't air conditioned and had speakers for announcements by the Principal, there were people who write the noisy, standing and well-behaved on the blackboard, o yes the blackboard, what about the betamax? when the JAWS I scared all people out of the beach (and even some swimming pool) waters, when "arnold" had to have his lines voiced (by someone else) in movies because his english was hideous, bill bixby, That's Incredible, Evil Knievel and Tony Ferrer Agent X44, when there were only 4 or 5 tv stations in this country, the bmx craze, mongoose and the like, when handlebars were mounted leaning as far front as possible, Oz burger and Birdcage pizza in magallanes, when there were only a handful of burger machines in metro manila, when the term "supermodel" had not been invented yet and Vivian Velez was already considered sexy even if she had a 29 inch waistline, that show "dance fever" with denny terrio, when "three's company" came out...galaxian,tempest and the knight rider were the video games, Yellow and red colored branches of shakeys, when burger 20/20 was the only burger joint in all of Makati and Rizal Theater and Quad were the only cinemas in MCC. When a Coke cost PHP 1.50 and the deposit was 50 cents and haw flakes and cow label were common. Tarzan was the bubble gum then and they had the San Miguel miguelito. Everyone was playing hide and seek, patintero, tumbang preso and shato in the streets and if you had an atari you were a rich kid (remember the game tank). Alloysius Snuffalufagous in Sesame street was still the imaginary friend of Big Bird. Richard was the driver of Daimos and Kojie Kabuto was the one for Mazinger Z, When Star Gallery, Zachs, Manangs, Kublai's Rock were the places to be,and the only club at that time was Zig Zag (along Pasong Tamo). A souped up car had a twin webber carburator and drag racing was in greenhills. Tretorn, White Shirt and Maong for Men.
