Bono - up close and almost personal The Edge - still sharp as ever with his guitar the 2-hour spectacle had all U2 enjoying their time These two may have enjoyed the most! U2 is a common favorite! U2 360 Concert at Toronto Rogers Centre, Toronto Canada There is one band who I admire for their songs - both the lyrics and their meaning and to their advocacies outside of the music world. U2. Their performance last Wednesday night has cemented this and only proved that after 30 years, they still have it! Is there any band that comes close to what this band has accomplished? The recent surge in popularity of the Beatles comes close if not a close second. That could be blasphemous to most Beatles-fan, which also includes me. U2 is the band of my generation and if they continue to write the same type of anthemic songs with meaning, with their stand on world issues - it will remain to be the band of these generation too. And for future generations. Their set list included the following: 1. Breathe 2. No Line On The Horizon 3. Get On Your Boots 4. Magnificent 5. Beautiful Day 6. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For/Stand By Me 7. Elevation 8. Your Blue Room 9. Unknown Caller 10. Until The End of the World 11. Stay (Far Away, So Close) 12. The Unforgettable Fire 13. City of Blinding Lights 14. Vertigo/Pump It Up 15. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight 16. Sunday Bloody Sunday 17. MLK 18. Walk On Encore 1: 19. One/Amazing Grace 20. Where The Streets Have No Name Encore 2: 21. Ultraviolet (Light My Way) 22. With or Without You 23. Moment of Surrender Videos are posted here, here and here. The slideshow of images during the great night is here. Great shot from high above, may God's eye view :) Thank you God for giving U2 to us and for the great night! ****************** Sibling Revelry in SingaporePart 2 Funny to recall how our 2.5 day stay in Singapore was. I could start off with the great food. This almost made me fail a medical exam for insurance :) hahaha. What about the booboo of going back almost on foot to a mall kilometers away just to get back SG$ 27.00 in tax rebate? My best memory remains bonding with my sisters at the Esplanade after mass with no cares, as if we were back in Las Pinas and really hamming it up. The only people missing are Mama and Paparazzi. Wish they were there! Sa susunod... If you wish to read more of us, we have opened for 3 weeks now a collaborative blog at Arrezaph.com. That could well be ArrezaSG.com or ArrezaCA.com, but whereever we are, PH remains to be our motherland - the land of our birth! << |
