Visiting the Farm at Digos Diving for Memories at Pearl Farm Pearl Farm's Parola at Night Memories of Christmas with the Family Samal Island, Davao, December 2008 Back from a fantasy yeah" - Back to Life, Back to Reality, En Vogue January 2, 2008 at 8:00 am, Manila time, we were sweating to have our bags pass the weigh in limit of 50 lbs per bag. On January 2, 2008 at 8:00 PM, Toronto time, I was on my way criss crossing snow at -18 and was out to get our first meal after arriving from the airport. Yes, same date, different places. ************* Now that the frenzy has ended, the last of the gleedebris collected by the garbage trucks, and all we have are left over food from the new year, its time to go back to reality. But then again it's always good to recall happy moments from the last 26 days in Manila and Davao. So here we go again: starting from getting to work at 7am the next day, or exactly 12 hrs upon arriving in Manila :), talk about dedication huh? or jockeying for a taxicab ride to Las Pinas from Galleria for almost 1.5 hrs. The next day was no different, albeit more systematic with a cab-ride line up in Greenhills just for us to meet up at the Fort and then onwards to Las Pinas again for a pre-Paparazzi birthday meal. Wednesday was all Pinoy food at favorite Sentro in GB3. By the 4th day we were so overwhelmed by the almost daily Pinoy food, we had to detox from all the greasy stuff and stay in bed. We only got out that Friday to see Workshy after joining in the Ayala rally, touring Landmark and Greenbelts 1-5 and having dinner at Monty's with friends. That weekend was Ziggy's christening and the rest of the day, and it wasnt still enough, was spent in the humongous MOA. We dont know what got to us but we decided to venture into the traffic-laden streets of EDSA (glad I wasnt in a driving mode then) to Mandaluyong. I was back to work the whole week the next week but was glad I wasnt anymore almost committing murder just for a possible taxicab ride. We had checked out from our list, Serendra, Market Market, and Tiendesitas, all in 3 days :) Mitzi even added Divisoria, 168, to her successful excursions! The following weekend was when Linnor and family arrived and was the start of nightly gimmicks!. I spent one more day at work, then spent Dec 22 as Mama and Papa's Wedding Anniversary and our advanced Christmas gift-giving. The next day we were off to Davao! And that part is for another blog :) << |
