Theme Thursday: Seasons Change It was listed in one of those books which record oddities that the Philippines enjoy the longest Christmas season. In fact, officially, we start Christmas on December 16 every year, and for nine days, we have mini-Christmases leading to the real one. Unofficially, it starts in mid-September. This is when you start hearing Christmas songs as background music in most elevators, waiting rooms of doctors and even from the radio. It is also when you chance upon Christmas delicacies being served piping hot from service stations*. The countdown starts - 97 days before the real Christmas, but for us Filipinos, the season has already started. * - and the one from above is from Magallanes.
