Get the Balance Right Balancing Work and Play When I was a kid, my parents started in me the discipline of balancing school and work. They allowed creative spaces for me to learn not just the usual subjects taught in school but also Chinese painting, sports, piano lessons and never really banned me from play and TV even during school week. The same kind of balance I've practiced til I graduated from the university, active in academics as well as sports. It allowed me to become the well-rounded person that I am. Nowadays, putting in the right balance is a little bit harder. The pressures of work, the demands of family life and other regimented activities (plug in traffic into the equation) are eating so much time, effort and resources of what should be a balanced life. I need a change in pace. Photo Friday: : Symmetry (Makati, Philippines) |
