Family (August 4, 2003) Some family trees bear an enormous crop of nuts. Seriously, I look at where I come from and I know where I'm headed to. I'm a cross between my dad's hilarity and mom's nagging ways. I take from my dad his love for the word, my mom's penchant for images. I'm in between my elder sister's pensive moods and my other sister's uncomplicated albeit childlike traits. I'm a monster by myself, I sneer, I jeer, I suffer. I offer. I laugh, I'm rough, I'm good, I brood, I'm cool, I drool, Am no saint, a rogue I'ain't. I clap, I nap, I write, I fight, I jab, I love, yes, I'm a product of a sub standard process but nurtured by the best family one can ever have. |
