Makati On Saturdays Paseo Center Makati City, March 2004 When a former edifice housing all the men in blue, an institution in selling the best automation machines til the 80s, when a former IBM center has turned into a place for lifestyle and recreation, that speaks about the priorities of our own economy. Nonetheless, it serves to be a great solution to an almost 'abandoned' building that now speaks of modernity and alternative upscale living. Now I'm a transient habitue of this place since it has everything I need from the ubiquitous crowded mall. The Paseo Center is everything a mall is, plus more. Its beauty exudes perfectly during quiet and breezy Saturday afternoons like today. Grab a magazine from Mag.net; pop an Incubus CD (whose concert we heard last night - emphasize on heard) from the kiosk of O (Odyssey) Records; or choose from their array of essentials; freedom fries from McDonald's, films from Kodak centre, blue mountain coffee from UCC Vienna, bulgogi from Kaya korean resto and of course wi-fi access point from Seattle's Best, all comfortably situated in one complex. Without the latter, this blog entry won't have been made. Don't pass up passing Paseo Center next time. Thet're open everyday, not just on peaceful Saturday afternoons like today. |
