Greenhills FAQ Greenhills Complex, April 2004 An FAQ of Greenhills to someone who hasn't been there in years: 1. What's new in Greenhills? Only the name is the same. The look, the stores, the crowd, the parking system, the traffic - are all new. 2. Is parking still free? Free, for the first 20 minutes, I guess, that's the number of minutes you hope you'd find a slot. Its P 20 for 2 hours last weekend. I dont know how much per hour. Better than free and discovering your car gone in 60 seconds, which the place was notorious for in the 80s. 3. Are there still tiangges? Next question. Of course, its the only thing people go there to. Well, except for DEC, or Le Ching, and cellphone repairs. 4. What are the structures left from 20 years ago? Tough question. The kids train in the middle of Shoppesville is gone. I really don't know. I was still young 20 years ago. Seriously, Unimart, Kimpura, Greenlanes, Gift Gate, Shakey's, Dingdong, Mercury Drug, Tropical Hut, Maxim's are still there. Oh, and National Bookstore too. 5. What can you buy for P 2,000 (est $40) from Greenhills? You can pay someone to carry all your shopping loot. My wife was able to buy 34 items with less than that amount. Just remember, in Greenhills, the first price is not always right! (you must haggle!) |
