On Adversity Kite's Flight Boracay, Philippines, June 2004 - Hamilton Wright Mabie I never realized how lucky I am that for the past employments I've been with, our company always stands to be the second best, never really ranked the best but merely a strong contender. Why do I feel lucky then? Going against the odds has been the story of my employment life. I have known the fact that adversity is harder to face when everything is stacked against you. There is more to be done. Everyday is an uphill climb. But soon I realized that being small meant being nimble and quick. That by doing things creatively meant being able to discover new ways to do battle. I learned a lot in being in small teams than in large organizations. In the end, despite the odds, I've always felt we've come out a winner. |
