In today's game, Kobe missed his first 4 3-point attempts, but made one with 2.1 seconds left. That brought the crowd roaring and the game into overtime. After trailing by 6 points with barely a minute left, that last heave counted the most as it augered a win for the Lakers.

Also, Babe Ruth, the famed baseball homerun king of yesteryears, held the most number of homeruns in a lifetime, which apparently took 4 decades to break. No one knew that he also held the record for the most number of strikeouts.

Life teaches us to take aim, swing and hit that ball, or shoot that 25 foot shot despite the odds. Who cares if we miss? What counts most is that we tried, if we miss, we learn from our mistakes, and then go at it again.

80 days to go, and we're going to take a shot at living in a faraway land. What counts most is that we'd go there trying.
