Los Angeles to Vancouver to Seoul to Manila!
No we didn't land on the moon.
With the time and distance that it took, it might well be. But let me say this before you proceed to reading my first 36 hours in Manila, the looooong trip was well worth it.
You can go back to your surfing now, or stay a bit to know in chronology what transpired, and as a disclaimer - I've done more in the last 36 hours than I could probably do in a month.
Ready....? Blast off!
11 pm, Friday: Leaving Los Angeles and decided to have my first time in months to sleep before midnight, prepared for 3:30 am taxi appointment to the airport
3 am, Saturday: Up and about, in the airport by 4am
7 am, Saturday: LAX Terminal to Vancouver (Objective: to have a surprise rendezvous with Mitzi to join her in the longest leg (12 hrs) of the flight home)
11 am, Vancouver: prepared for the big surprise, and double checked with the Air Canada boarding crew that Mitzi and I will be seated side by side
11:35 am, Flight to Seoul: Success! Mitzi was surprised to see me come up to Seat no. 23C and be with her for her first trip back home in 2 years! :)
