Jake and Zia Tale of Two Chikitings 7 months apart, these 2, Jake and Zia, are poles apart when it comes to their first two months of school. While Jake has been placid and peaceful, well at least during his first day, Zia, assures everyone that finally at least for one day, she didn't get reprimanded from fighting with a classmate. I was able to see them on 2 consecutive days and saw contrast and similarities in their outlook towards school. Both are excited preparing and dressing up in their uniforms. Zia was dressed up a full hour prior to start of school, and was already waiting for her mom to accompany her. Jake was the same, although more laid back. Both are bright. Ahem, of course - the same blood runs on both. Although talking to Zia seemed like to talking to a 10-year old, Jake seemed to be more reserved and his speech is just normal for his age. Well, we men, all know that this is a fact whether you are a 3-year old or 30-years old - Women love to talk :) ******** More evidences to the above theory that women love talking more than men: o Women talk 3x more than Men more facts: o Women also speak more quickly, devote more brainpower to chit-chat - and actually get a buzz out of hearing their own voices o Women devote more brain cells to talking than men.The simple act of talking triggers a flood of brain chemicals which give women a rush similar to that felt by heroin addicts when they get a high. o The differences can be traced back to the womb, where the sex hormone testosterone moulds the developing male brain. The areas responsible for communication, emotion and memory are all pared back the unborn baby boy.The result is that boys - and men - chat less than their female counterparts and struggle to express their emotions to the same extent ******** Apparently last Friday this wasn't the case. I loved spending lunchtime talking as much as listening to two women. Two great women at that. You can sense the passion in life and living, the excitement to know more and be interesting as to being interested and the connection despite our distances. In fact, one of them was an online friend for years now and we only met for the first time that day. We had so much fun our lunch dates could've lasted til merienda time. More tomorrow! Remember, men talk less... << |
