Muskoka Fall Watch Muskoka, Ontario, Canada It's official. It's the end of summer. But last Saturday, the supposed swan song of a wonderful and memorable season, the temps were as high as 32 degrees and it became another day to gather around the grill for some BBQ or a visit to the beach. We were all in denial that the cooler nights are here. People just can't let go of a great summer. For us, we can't help to just welcome the new season with open arms by visiting the picnic capital of Ontario - Muskoka! If Jo and family were here in Mississauga, it'd be a cinch to have them part of the quickie getaway which was hatched only a few hours before midnight of Friday. We had another family of 4 - the Del Rosarios, who we know love the outdoors (they came from Winnipeg and almost every weekend was outside the park or trekking the great plains). They were indeed perfect for outdoor gimmicks as we validated after the day. The mom was a very close friend of Mitzi from college and a co-Leader in the DLSU Student Council just like me. We were one of those who asked them why they were leaving the Philippines in 2000 when everything was ok then, not knowing that we would be applying ourselves for migration in a couple of years' time. :) What irony! ******* This is a 3-part series, read more on the great trek - with Parts 2 and 3 here and here. << |
