I've always admitted that I'm good at sports. Err, let me clarify that. I'm good at sports - trivia, information, statistics and being a spectator.
When God showered the gift of being sporty - he probably missed me. Instead he gave me a mind and heart to love sports and a mean left-handed 3-point shot. My claim to fame was that I made 16 3-point shots in one game and almost shot the lights out of the Citibank parking space now a 24-storey building by itself.
In my previous life - that is- when I was 100 pounds lighter, I ran a 50-meter dash at 7 seconds flat and made 33 situps in 30 seconds. I was flexible enough to reach the ground not with the tip of my fingers, but my palms. I could make more than 15 chin ups and stay on the bar with my dead weight for more than 2 minutes.
Of course all of that is gone now. What is left is the fact that I still love sports. And that is what matters.
Guess who is enrolled with me in the gym? Yes, it's a husband-wife tandem to help each other improve our bodies. Who else cares for it more than we do? Di ba?
5 Things That Barack Obama and I Have In Common
1. We're both left-handed.
2. Barack's wife is named Michelle.
3. Barack is a junior, and very well be a Junnie too.
4. Barack loved sports. I too - See above. The difference is he still plays.
5. Barack is tall, dark and handsome. I am tall and handsome in the dark.
One major difference is that he will be the next president of the United States while I continue to work in my jammies, travel, and enjoy life.
He probably would do the same...I think.
