After One Week of Sun - We Miss the Snow Mississauga, Ontario The first is always the best...and this includes the first business week for some Filipino companies who have made headway by buying foreign companies: 1. January 7, 2008: Exist Global Acquires DevZuz - Exist Global, a leading software engineering services firm headquartered in the Philippines, has announced the acquisition of US-based DevZuz. DevZuz is a developer of delivery platforms that link enterprise businesses to application development projects and processes 2. January 9, 2008: IPVG buys US tech firm for $10.5M - LISTED IPVG Corp. has acquired US-based Prolexic Technologies Inc. (Prolexic) for $10.5 million. Prolexic provides businesses operating on the Internet, including e-commerce companies, protection from all types of cyber-security threat. 3. January 11, 2008 : IPVG ups offer to acquire PeopleSupport - IPVG and AO Capital Partners Ltd., have proposed to acquire PeopleSupport at $17 a share, both groups said in a letter to the CEO of PeopleSupport. The all-cash offer increases IPVG and AO Capital's offer from $15 to $17 a share. Guess who really needs to buy true people support? Philippine president GMA, she just launched an anti-poverty program exclusively for the poorest of the poor. ******************* Filipinos may have just enough for the day, still we are the most generous in the region. That's the true spirit of giving. ******************* We are the happiest too - among the poorest countries! 80% of Filipinos are happy despite less than $2,000GNP. I want to see the 2005 updated table. Am sure - pareho lang. ******************* Lastly, since we left the Philippines, 1,200 days ago, the US Dollar exchange rate has gone down from $56 to $40. Last year the Philippine peso was the most aggressive among Asian countries. Times are really looking up! I'm beginning to believe that there really is a Santa Claus. He just made my wish for the Philippines to continually recover economically and start helping its own. What a great start of the year! << |
