GK Youth Build 2008 Leap Day 2008, Canada
"It is your destiny to reach maturity during this great season of hope, this exciting time of awakening, this period of great challenge and heroism. You have the choice and the opportunity to correct the mistakes of our generation and build a future full of hope.."- Tony Meloto
This extra day of the year, which only comes once in 4 years, I'd like to honor the Youth.
And everything is captured by the following statement by Robert Coles:
"If we would only let them be so, children are often ready to be our teachers. When we become thoughtful about things, we want to know about life's purpose. Waiting to show us what it means to keep going, what we need to do to stay on top of things, are our sons and daughters, or the kids next door or across the street or around the block. They are going from one step to another, trying to meet this business of living as best they can.
They're on the lookout for something to do, someplace to be, something that will give the day some action. If you're doing something then by golly, you're alive! One achievement after another! Momentum matters--why not?
It is not easy to turn away from children, near and far, no matter the other obligations that press upon us. We want a future for this world, and when we look at boys and girls going about their ways and days, we are reminded of all that our sons and daughters need to do in the course of their short but important (sometimes momentous) lives spent here among us adults--and so our eyes meet theirs in pictures that become beacons for our moral sensibility, not to mention, our hearts.
All those children these pictures shown parading, seeing, posing, even sometimes peering, all those children the world over trying their hardest to get through the riddles of life, its variousness, its spells of good or bad. One hopes and prays for every one of them, for what their lives ended up being....
Our youth is indeed our future - and they're with us - now.

GK Youth Build is now in its full swing. We are inviting all youth in Canada and the US to take time this summer to spend it meaningfully with evangelizing and nation building.
List of Child Prodigies. Just imagine if we give them all the opportunities to chart their lives. I think some are exceptional, some are really born to be great. But we wouldn't know unless we give them the chance.
Ruth Ann Kepple (1936 - ): Prodigy of facts (knowledge), at age 2 she could recite the names of all the states of the union, the U.S. presidents, the names of all persons pictured on U.S. currency and many other facts, songs and exhibited an acute mental alertness. By age 3, Ruth Ann could easily recite the alphabet backwards and forwards, the names of the all the capitals in every state and those of foreign countries.

Speaking of giving the youth the chance to prove themselves, everytime I see it on TV, the last line of this Jumpman TV ad continues to move me -
