Snowy Trash Day Mississauga, Ontario Brrrr. I just came from the outside to ensure our trashbags are as updated with the latest trash as possible. We have 3 bins to be collected today, one is black - for all the dry garbage, green bin - for all the wet and those which will decompose and the blue bin - for recycling. Yes, waste management is big here in this part of the world. In fact, it is so big, it becomes a topic of discussion during gatherings, probably not within the same breath as snow and weather but up there. :) ********* Our blue bin employs the single stream recycling. This means that newspaper, plastics and bottle need not be segregated from the curbside. Just dump them all in one blue bin as it passes through an optical sensor inside the truck to separately crush and dispose off your recyclables even before they go to the next block. High tech. Beats the nostalgic cry of the man on the street asking for your "Booootehhhh, Diyaryohhhhhhhh" ********** Enough of this. I hope I'm not wasting my time. Well, time is some thing I can't recycle. ********** Top 10 Time Wasters.. Scrabulous is not there :)? ********** Speaking of trash, are you still using supermarket bags? Really?? yikes....next time, bring your own bag and save the planet, one bag at a time...:P Other than NOT using Supermarket plastic bags, here are 10 Other things to do to help Mother Earth ********** Brrrr..it is -12 degrees outside and all over downtown Toronto. I guess this is how it feels in Greece these past days :) as it was blanketed in snow last Monday. Snow as they say is "Greek" to the Greeks :P << |
