Purple Reigns Guard Dog Typhoon Ondoy and some salvaged properties Angels in Our Midst Manila It's been 16 days. I know alot has happened in the country during those days. Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng left - not just in a huff but a devastated country with close to a 1,000 dead and billions of pesos worth of property and plantation damaged. But amidst all of those, the best of the Filipino came out. How many of us remember the 18-year old hero who saved 31 but lost his own life in return? What about those who volunteered out of their personal leaves from work to help out in helping those in need. Indeed, it brought out the best in most of us. And for some the worst. What about those who looted the houses who were left by their owners hoping that whatever was left of their flooded houses will be there when they came back? or those who vandalized the schools by using the textbooks to keep the fire burning during the cold nights, or tampered with the school properties such as the rest rooms and the electric fans? Some people hate the feeling that their help don't reach the right people, or that the money they send end up in the greedy hands of some government officials. God bless them. Amidst all these are angels in our midst who continue to make us smile and have placed an eternal sunshine despite the dreary days. Our sunshine comes in the form of our little angel who has made our past 16 days a glimpse of heaven.(password protected, clue : my last name or leave me a comment) << |
