Jose Burgos and Fr. Jacinto Zamora stood their ground, crusaded for reform in the Spanish Colonial Government and led the mutiny of Cavite. Collectively known as Gomburza, they were executed by garrotte in Luneta 24 years before our National hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. One Tuesday morning, I chanced upon their resting place while visiting this tranquil park in the corner of Mabini and Apacible in Manila - more popularly known as Paco Park. Well, if I sacrificed 2 hours searching for the tomb of The Door's lead singer, Jim Morrison in Cemeterie Pere-Lachaise in Paris, why can't I visit our own heroes here in the Philippines.
