Fruits of Hard Labor Boracay Island, Philippines, June 2004 Psalm 34:8 Vacations like this and the other recent ones we've had are priceless. In monetary terms, they cost a lot. But where do we get the resources? The answer is plain and simple, we work hard for it. The Boracay townsfolk are the same. They are hardworking, plying their trade from sunrise to sundown, trying to get people excited about shades, pearls, wristwatches, fruits, others move around to offer massage services, banana boat rides, and despite the weather, and the absence of the sun - sunset sailing. Despite the many "No's" they receive, they continue to collect them and hope that the next guy will just ask, "ok, how much?". We know that life is too short to miss out on opportunities like going on a vacation to Boracay or having the chance to live in Canada. Whatever comes our way, whether we have to break the bank to do it, we fully trust the Lord that it be according to His plans. Our resolve is that when we are with full knowledge that we are completely taken care of, we will be ready to pack our bags, lock the doors and start walking. Click Pic to continue reading Day 2 |
