Opportunities Theme Thursday: Orange Cavite, Philippines, February 2004 When God closes doors, He opens several others. In our case, my wife and I have so many doors opened. The love that He provides is overflowing. In fact, we sometimes can't ask for anything else but the grace and strength to be allowed to repay Him back through whatever apostolate He assigns us too. **** Last weekend, after arriving from Davao, my wife and I attended a Valentine retreat, a Marriage Encounter. It was an experience that we can't forget. Aside from spending close to 72 hours with your love one, including one whole Valentine's Day, I felt it wasn't still enough. **** We submitted all distractions to the front desk, including watches and cellphones. Thus, we couldn't tell time as well as be reached from the outside. We didn't have to. Except for snapshots to know if its nearing lunch or if its time to go down to join the other 20 couples in the seminar room, we just stayed in our rooms during breaks and enjoyed each others company. (The picture above was at 3am with the bathroom door and its orange walls illuminating the dark bedroom.) We had a blast being together, writing love letters, dialoguing and just holding hands for close to 12 hours. Everything for the Lord! |
