Greening Greenhills Shopping Center Greening Greenhills Greenhills Shopping Center, March 2004 Greenhills Shopping Center, Virra Mall and Unimart hold one of the most memorable childhood memories for shopping and good food. Getting lost in Unimart when I was 4 is a favorite anecdote by my mom. Especially with the scene when I hugged her tight after rediscovering each other after an hour of searching. Then there’s our favorite comfort food from grade school til now, Le Ching, still being there with another branch to boot a few meters away. Yes, from the time I was shopping for espadrilles, from sneakers, rubbershoes, to NBA Cards, to fake DVDs, Greenhills was always the choice place in mind. For the first time in a year, last week, we rediscovered the greening of Greenhills. This time complete with a walkway cum park, a chapel (see picture) and a place to converge. There are more free space, gone are the congested DVD/VCD stalls (well, so it seems), gone are the restos that sell corn, buko juice, and in turn is a row of great fast food jaunts on the old parking space at the side of McDonald’s. Moreover, parking is free. Overall, the best prices, second to Divisoria, for the best buys are available in greener Greenhills. *** So how do you spend less than P 2,000 (less than $40) and buy 34 needed items under one hour? That’s the challenge made for my wife for her birthday shopping. And she passed it with more money to spare. Only from Greenhills, indeed |
