The Amazing Race 5 Coconut Nut Manila, Philippines, June 2004 I'm an Amazing Race nut. The very first time I saw this 7-continent around-the-world race was 3 years ago when I thought it was a National Geographic footage showing one of the most magnificent places we visited in France, Les Baux. From then on, I got hooked. More so when I saw one of the segments in Switzerland actually had participants passing from Chateau Chillon and ending up in front of the Swiss apartment where we stayed for more than 2 years. The participants ran their bikes where we actually walked. Amazing Race 5, which will have its TV premiere this Tuesday, July 6, (July 7, Wednesday AM Phil time) will be highly anticipated. Not because my wife and I are participating (which we hope to do and have been discussing for 2 years now, hehe), but because 2 of its legs will be passing through the Philippines. As Cha blogged, the crucial last 2 stops will be Philippine legs. The first one passes through Manila with Coconut Palace as its stop and the last stop before going back to North America is Lagen Island, El Nido, Palawan. If this travel map for The Amazing Race 5 (created by so-called spoilers) holds true, no one really knows, this 5th edition stands to be a great one, not just for us Filipinos, but also for the participants. |
