My First Sunrise in Months Mississauga, Canada The river's wide, we'll swim across Started up a brand new day" - Sting I'm not a morning person. I have great respect for people who are up and about, jolly and singing at 6 in the morning - greater respect for people who are on the road driving to office and are able to see the sunrise. But this week, I had the luxury to see it and drive through the whole duration of the sunrise. I should say that it was beautiful, if not prettier than a sunset. The meaning it places to a start of a day is punctuated by the fact that Spring gives us, 12 or almost 12 equal hours for night and day. This means we can have more time for valuable things before the sun leaves us. (The only time we have them perfectly even was Spring Equinox, which was the reason why you can balance eggs during this day. Which was what I did, right?.) But yes, I saw the sunrise and happen to see the sunset during the same day and it kept me wondering the whole time, "TODAY, was I able to do something good for a friend? for a neighbor? for an officemate? Was I helpful to a stranger? Was I more loving to my wife? and to the very least to myself?" And then I realized that life is so short to miss out on important dates, important appointments, kids' activities, dental check ups, being there when your daughter loses her first tooth, to cheer your son during soccer games, bring daughter to ballet lessons, and to cramp them all up in 12 full hours. Life is so short. Indeed. ******* If there's so much work piling up, it's always good to have help coming along. Linnor has.. Good for her! On an aside, are you ready if life blows out your candle? Toni is discussing it in her blog. Sha is making the most of life! Happy for you...should've seen you if we were still in Switz. ******* I'll end this one now - lunch is ready. It's one of those days that I wake up with a smile on my face as Mitzi is here working from home with me. I could turn out to be a morning person everytime this happens :) << |
